01. Rome, Italy – July 2024 – The summer plenary session of the General Council, the last chaired by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, as Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, ended on the morning of Friday 26 July.
02. Agartala, India – July 2024 – On 8 July, the Governor of the State of Tripura, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, opened a new building for the Don Bosco school in Agartala, built for the 25th anniversary of the institution. The new facilities house several classrooms with interactive whiteboards, game rooms, a reception room, the infirmary, the teachers and staff classroom, toilets and the computer laboratory.
03. France, Paris – July 2024 – On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the French Bishops' Conference has launched the "Holy Games", a series of activities to animate the churches and squares of the city aimed at spreading values and spirituality among athletes, fans and tourists. The Salesian Family was among those who promoted the initiative, animating workshops and outdoor games, as well as vigils and debates.
04. Sao Paulo, Brazil – July 2024 – The members of the Central Commission of the Salesian School in America (ESA) met in Sao Paulo for a detailed review and evaluation of the 5th ESA Continental Congress, held the previous May in Mexico, and for a discussion on the significance and prospects of Salesian education in America.
05. Al Fidar, Lebanon – July 2024 –During a solemn ceremony held at the Don Bosco Technique vocational high school in Al Fidar, certificates were distributed to 135 students: 83 completed their technical studies and 52 obtained their postgraduate specialisation certificate.
06. Esmeraldas, Ecuador – July 2024 – The opening of the new premises at the Salesian Madre del Salvador centre in Esmeraldas took place on 8 July. After the blessing and opening of the facilities, by the Salesian Provincial, Fr Marcelo Farfán, and the Governor of the Province of Esmeraldas, children and young people began to play in the renovated spaces.
07. Anisakan, Myanmar – July 2024 – The Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) was launched in Myanmar on 24 July, with the first 66 members making their promises during the Eucharist in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians presided over by the Superior of the Salesian Vice-Province of Myanmar, Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi.
08. Juazeiro do Norte, Brazil – July 2024 – Thousands of devotees of the Servant of God Father Cícero Romão Batista prayed beside his remains on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his death, on 20 July. Father Cícero was an evangeliser and social promoter who spent himself for the arrival of the Salesians in the region and last February he was posthumously enrolled as a Salesian Cooperator by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime.
