01. Turin, Italy - 1 April 2025 - The inauguration of Piazza Maria Ausiliatrice, in front of Valdocco, and the blessing of the restored bell towers of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians was celebrated on the 91st anniversary of Don Bosco's canonisation Among the many personalities present: the Rector of the Basilica, Fr Michele Viviano, the Rector Major, Fr Fabio Attard, and the Mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo.
02. Aparecida, Brazil - April 2025 - The meeting of the Salesian Network of Brazil (RSB) took place on 25 and 26 April. All the FMA Provincials and SDB Provincials of Brazil participated, as well as the men and women religious who are part of the Network's Board of Directors. Also present were Sr Paola Battagliola, FMA Visiting Councillor, and Fr Gabriel Romero, Councillor for the South American Cone Region.
03. Lagos, Nigeria - April 2025 - The Salesian Family in the Africa Nigeria Niger (ANN) Province met on 27 April to pay tribute and farewell to Fr Jorge Mario Crisafulli, former Superior of the ANN Province, for his work on the African continent over the past 30 years. Since 28 March last, Fr Crisafulli has been General Councillor for the Missions, having been elected to the post by the 29th General Chapter.
04. Mandalay, Myanmar - April 2025 - Following the devastating earthquake that struck parts of Myanmar, the Salesian community present in the country extended a helping hand to the suffering people of Mandalay, one of the areas worst hit by the earthquake. Sons of Don Bosco, lay people and young collaborators immediately worked to provide all the necessary support to the displaced families.
05. Chiari, Italy - 6 April 2025 - ‘DL Day 2025’ was held in Chiari, the great celebration of the Salesian Youth Movement of Lombardy-Emilia inspired by the Salesian youth holiness figures Dominic Savio and Laura Vicuña. Over 1,500 boys, girls and companions gathered for a day of meeting, play, prayer and formation under the theme: “Sowers of hope”.
06. Caracas, Venezuela - April 2025 - More than 1,500 young people took part in the Holy Week missions organised by the Salesian St Luke Province of Venezuela (VEN), under the motto ‘Anchored in Christ’. The young missionaries brought the Word of God, joy and love to children, adolescents, young people and the elderly, as true sowers of hope.
07. Johannesburg, South Africa - April 2025 - On 21 April the Provincial House of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians hosted the Salesian Family Day in Johannesburg, involving Salesians, FMA, Salesian Cooperators, Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians and aspirants of the Association of Mary Help of Christians. Also present was Sister Leslie Sandigo, FMA General Councillor for the Salesian Family.
08. Guwahati, India - April 2025 - Seven hundred young people from all over Northeast India participated in a five-day retreat organised to mark Holy Week.
