(ANS – Rome) – The Salesian Province of New Delhi, canonically established on January 25, 1997, emerged from the Calcutta Province delegation formed in 1992. With its headquarters in New Delhi, the province spans 11 states and 2 union territories in North India, covering 46% of India's geographic area. Within this vast territory, the province operates in 9 states, 2 union territories, and a single presence in West Bengal. Additionally, Salesians from this province serve diocesan missions in the USA under special arrangements.

(ANS – Rome) – The birth of the Province of Guwahati in 1959 from the Mother Province of North India was both timely and momentous. It was the tangible sign from above of the divine sanction that accompanied at every step the heroic feat of the Salesian pioneers who engendered the Assam Mission miracle. On 21st July, 1921, Fr. Paul Albera, Rector Major of the Salesians, acceding to the repeated request of Propaganda Fide, accepted the Assam Mission, reiterating St. Peter’s words to Christ, In verbo autem tuo laxabo rete (at your words I will let down the net, Luke 5:5). It was the beginning of a glorious chapter in the history of the Indian Missions, that is replete with missionary adventures and achievements which deserve to be written in letters of gold. True to the prophetic words of the Rector Major, his missionary sons braved innumerable obstacles and dangers to “launch into the deep.”

(ANS – Rome) – The Salesian Province of “Spain – St. James the Elder” (SSM) was established on June 7, 2014. Based in Madrid, it includes Salesian houses located in the Autonomous Communities of Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Galicia, La Rioja, Madrid, Navarra, and the Basque Country.

(ANS – Rome) – The Salesian charisma first touched Slovenian lands, which were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, through Salesian Cooperators like diocesan priest Luka Jeran and catechist Janez Smrekar. They had personal and connections with Don Bosco through their letters.

(ANS – Rome) – The dream of the beginning of the Salesian Mission in the island nation of Sri Lanka, though starts from the life time of Don Bosco. It can be seen in the letter Don Bosco wrote to Cagliero on 31 October 1876. It was the fruit of a dialogue between Fr. Piccinelli, a missionary from Sri Lanka, with Don Bosco. From then on, we have had so much invitations to begin the Salesian mission in Sri Lanka.

(ANS – Rome) – The Salesians of Don Bosco officially took possession of their first house in Polish territory on August 15, 1898, in Oświęcim at the request of Cardinal Puzyna and with the approval of then-Rector Major, Fr. Michele Rua.
