Its story began in the aftermath of World War II, when the Salesians of Don Bosco set foot in Goa during a time of Portuguese colonial rule. What followed was a monumental journey of transformation, service, and educational progress that has left an indelible mark on the region.

(ANS – Rome) – Myanmar is a predominantly Buddhist country. 85 % of its habitants are Buddhist. The rest are Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Catholics are hardly 2% of population of 58 million people. Myanmar has always been under kings’ different dynasties until November 1885 when she was annexed to British Empire. It remained like that until 1948, 4th of January when she gained independence from Britain.

António Barroso, on behalf of the Portuguese government, wrote to Don Michele Rua, then Superior of the Salesian Congregation: “The Portuguese government (...) strongly desires to promote the spread of Catholicism (...) through well-organized missions that can combine religious education with vocational training. It would be very pleased if the Salesian Congregation, which has done such brilliant work in America, would open a mission in Mozambique.” The invitation had been made.

(ANS – Rome) – The Northeast region of India, formerly known as Assam, now encompasses the "Seven Sister States" - Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura - with Sikkim joining in 1975. This diverse region is characterized by majestic Himalayan boundaries to the north, borders with Myanmar to the east, Bangladesh to the south, and is connected to mainland India through a narrow strip of land adjoining West Bengal.

(ANS - Rome) – The “Our Lady of Africa” Vice Province of Tropical Equatorial Africa (ATE) is located in the heart of Central Africa. It includes five countries: Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Chad. Covering an area of approximately 2,678,160 km², the region is home to a population of about 55.8 million people. The Vice Province was canonically established on January 31, 1998, by Fr. Juan Edmundo Vecchi, the 8th successor of Don Bosco. Since its foundation, the Vice Province has had six Superiors, with the current one being Fr. Roland Mintsa.

(ANS - Rome) – The history of the Salesian Province in Hungary dates back over a century. The Salesians arrived in Hungary in 1913 during the leadership of Fr Paul Albera, the first successor of Don Bosco as Rector Major. In the years that followed, they established numerous houses, schools, and student residences throughout the country.
