(ANS - Seville) - The project of the musical "Getsemani" was born in 2019 at the Assembly of Salesian Cooperators (SSCC) of the Province of Mary Help of Christians: a group of members of the association, from various parts of Andalusia, prepared a small musical about the passion and death of Jesus as a moment of prayer, conceived as a simple stage play for those present. But the emotions aroused among those people gave the stimulus to repeat and perfect the project, involving, in the following year, a larger number of people. However, a few days after the first performance, the pandemic forced the show’s suspension. It was a setback, but the technical team and the cast of artists remained united as they waited for the conditions to arrive to stage the show.
(ANS – Rome) – The word “cuisine” is commonly defined as a style or method of cooking that is characteristic of a particular country, region, or group. It is a style of cooking or food preparation using distinctive ingredients and techniques associated with the traditions and customs to create dishes unique to a specific culture or a particular geographic region. Traditional cuisine reflects a people’s unique history, lifestyle, values, and beliefs. It is passed down from one generation to the next as an expression of cultural identity.
(ANS - Rome) - In view of the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition, to be celebrated in 2025, the Missions Sector of the Salesian Congregation launched a unique initiative at the beginning of this year: the "BoscoFood" project, which aims to present the richness of the cuisine in each of the more than 130 countries in the world where Salesians are present.
(ANS - Bethlehem) - For decades the Salesian brother Sim'ān (Simon) Srugi was in charge of the medical-nursing clinic attached to the Salesian house in Betgamāl. From 1930 to 1942 he accurately recorded names of patients, types of diseases, treatment administered and their villages of origin. Eight registers of his work have been preserved, the last of which is now exhibited at the "Don Bosco House Museum" in Turin-Valdocco, in the section dedicated to the figures of holiness of the Salesian Family. They document the health service that was provided every day to dozens of sick people (40-45 on average, for a total of over 30,000), originating from more than 70 villages, some even 60 km away from the Salesian Center.
(ANS - Castelnuovo Don Bosco) - New projects have been created at the Ethnological Missionary Museum (MEM) of Colle Don Bosco through two web channels of the Piedmont Region: "Mèmora" and " L’arte con chi ne fa parte - Art with those who belong to it".
(ANS - Madrid) - The Museum of “Misiones Salesianas”, the Salesian Mission Office of Madrid, reopens its doors to the world as a cultural, educational and meeting place for the construction of global citizenship and from the perspective of the Salesian charism. The photographic exhibition “Indestructible”, has traveled to more than 15 Spanish cities and has been visited by more than 80,000 people in the last three years. It will remain open from 25 October to 22 January, in the renovated museum space of “Misiones Salesianas”.

Latin America – Strengthening Vocational and Educational Commitment Today: 30 Years of the Salesian School in Latin America
(ANS) – Since the first meeting in Cumbayá (Ecuador), 30 years ago, educational processes on the continent have found a collaborative epicentre which has given rise to the Salesian School in (Latin) America – ESA, in Spanish – as a forum for reflection and a common path. Many Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) and other groups of the Salesian Family (SF) have enriched this synodal journey, focusing on young people and their integral development. What are today's demands of us in the educational field? How are we building the Salesian School of the future? Can we further strengthen this great Salesian educational network in America? Some FMAs and Salesians who were at the first meeting in 1994, share their experience and their vision of how this journey has allowed a growth in the understanding of the youth reality, in the strategic decisions within the Provinces themselves and in the challenges that emerge for Salesian education.
