Dominican Republic – "Happy with Don Bosco" camp: youth formation, social commitment, a perpetual profession and a tribute to doctors and policemen
Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, July 2021 - With the participation of over 250 young people who attend the Youth Ministry activities promoted by the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in the Dominican Republic, the national camp “Happy with Don Bosco 2021” took place. Guided by the motto "Heal the world, with hope we renew everything", inspired by the catecheses of Pope Francis, the participants completed a spiritual formation itinerary aimed at having a personal encounter with Jesus and renewing everything on the basis of their faith. During the camp, a solidarity initiative was carried out through the delivery of 38 "hope packs" in five communities in need. The perpetual profession of the Salesian Jimmy González also took place at the "Sacred Heart of Jesus" shrine in Moca, chaired by the Provincial of the Antilles, Fr José Pastor Ramírez. Finally, there was an act of homage to the region's doctors and policemen for their service during the pandemic.
