09 December 2025

Goma, DR Congo - December 2025 - On Saturday, 6 December, the  Salama Technical Institute celebrated its platinum jubilee, celebrating 70 years of education, vocational training and accompaniment of young people. The day brought together the entire Salesian Family, past pupils, authorities and guests, in an atmosphere of gratitude, communion and hope. The celebration began with a solemn Mass, presided over by Bishop Gaston Ruvezi, SDB, and a homily by Fr Guillermo Basañes, Provincial of Central Africa (AFC), who recalled Don Bosco's mission: to educate by giving heart, reason and horizon. Students enlivened the celebration with creative presentations and technical demonstrations, while the jubilee raffle featured the women of the community. The jubilee celebrated not only the past, but also the future: Salama continues its mission, offering young people a human, spiritual and technical formation and helping to build better lives and societies.
