The centerpiece of the meeting was, as always, the time for the participants’ individual interviews with the Rector Major and his Vicar, an opportunity to jointly examine and review the level of application of the guidelines delivered at the beginning of the mandate and any other recommendations, as well as the challenges and peculiar realities faced by each Superior and Provincial.
A number of formative sessions were scheduled during this period, which dealt with different themes: the following of Jesus; the unique Salesian consecration in its two forms, clerical and lay; discernment and decision-making in Don Bosco's vocational adventure; Don Bosco's spirituality in his dreams; the role of Mary Help of Christians in the spiritual experience of the Saint of Youth; and the figure of Mary Domenica Mazzarello.
There were also numerous outings and moments of sharing experienced together beyond the time in the classroom. In fact, the various Provincials and Superiors were able to visit the central places of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello's experience - from Colle Don Bosco to Chieri, from Mornese to Nizza Monferrato; they also concelebrated the Missionary Sending Eucharist of the 153rd Salesian Missionary Expedition and were able to get a close look at the Salesian Mission Office "Missioni Don Bosco" in Turin and its organization and context.
