01 - Turin, Italy - January 2020 - The 38th Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family were held in Valdocco from 16 to 19 January, presided by Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco. About 400 representatives of the various groups of the Salesian Family took part in the meeting.
02 - Rome, Italy - January 2020 - On January 23, the press conference for the presentation of the Congregation's 28th General Chapter was held in the Salesian HQ. Speakers included Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major; Card. Cristóbal López Romero, SDB, Archbishop of Rabat; Fr Stefano Vanoli, CG28 Governor; and Fr Giuseppe Costa, former Director of LEV.
03 - Pamplona, Spain - January 2020 - The "Salesianos Pamplona" school in Sarriguren-Valle de Egües was inaugurated on 28 January. Present: Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major; Fr Stefano Martoglio, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region; Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, Provincial of the Spain-St James Major Province; and its Director and Dean, respectively Fr Ángel Miranda Regojo and Fr Jorge Lanchas Rivero.
04 - Turin, Italy - January 2020 - On 31 January the feast of Don Bosco was celebrated in Valdocco. The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, presided over the afternoon Eucharistic celebration in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in the presence of numerous young people from the Salesian Youth Movement.
05 - Lashio, Myanmar - January 2020 - On 29 January the episcopal ordination of the Salesian Fr Lucas Dau Ze was celebrated as coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Lashio in the presence of over 20 bishops of the Burmese Episcopal Conference, hundreds of priests, dozens of members of the Salesian Family and thousands of faithful from different ethnic groups.
06 - Montevideo, Uruguay - January 2020 - On January 31 the Salesian Family of Uruguay gathered at the "Juan XXIII" Institute to celebrate the feast of Don Bosco. Over 1,200 people attended the event, which included various activities and the Mass presided over by Cardinal Daniel Sturla, SDB, Archbishop of Montevideo.
07 - Meruri, Brazil - January 2020 – Taking place on 30 January in Meruri was the last session of the diocesan investigation of the cause of martyrdom of the Servants of God Rodolfo Lunkenbein, SDB, and Simão Bororo, the session presided by Mgr. Luft, bishop of Barra do Garças, in the presence of the members of the tribunal; of the Postulator General of the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, Fr Cameroni; of the Regional Councilor for America South Cone, Fr Vitali; and other prominent figures.
08 - Ivato, Madagascar - January 2020 - Mons. Jean Pascal Andriantsoavina, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Antananarivo, presided over the Eucharistic celebration on the occasion of the feast of Don Bosco at the "Santa Teresa" parish in Ivato in the presence of many faithful, collaborators and various members of the Salesian Family.
