01. Palermo, Italy - October 2022 - On October 13, Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, received from the Rector of the University of Palermo, Prof. Massimo Midiri, a degree honoris causa in Pedagogical Sciences. Also present were Fr. Giuseppe Costa, Co-spokesperson of the Salesian Congregation, and numerous other civil, academic, religious and Salesian authorities.
02. Turin, Italy - October 2022 - From September 28 to October 2, the International Congress of Salesian Works and Social Services was held in Valdocco, with about 300 participants, lay and consecrated, representing 90 Provinces and Vice Provinces of the Congregation. The meeting was sponsored by the Youth Ministry Sector.
03. Minsk, Belarus - October 2022 - The Salesian Family of Belarus celebrated the 100th anniversary of the presence and activities of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the country with two days of celebrations, which were also attended by Archbishop Emeritus of Minsk-Mohilev, Msgr. Tadeusz Kondrusevich, and the Vicars General of the Archdiocese, Msgr. Yury Kasabutski and Msgr. Aliaksandr Yasheusky, SDB.
04. São Paulo, Brazil - October 2022 - On October 8, more than 4,000 young people participated in the XXII Salesian Youth Festival (FEST), which also included the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). It featured moments of communion, music, theater, sports and prayer.
05. Nongpoh, India - October 2022 - The Rector Major, Fr. Á.F. Artime, who arrived in the Salesian Province "St. John Paul II" of Shillong (INS), made his first stop on October 27 in the parish dedicated to St. Mary of the Assumption, welcomed by the warm welcome of students and members of the Salesian Family.
06. Rome, Italy - October 2022 - On October 19, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation and Grand Chancellor of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS), presided over the official opening act of the university's 2022/2023 academic year, the eighty-third since the university's founding.
07. Lusaka, Zambia-October 2022-Delegates for Social Communication and those for Formation from the Salesian Provinces and Vice Provinces of the Salesian Africa-Madagascar Region gathered Oct. 17-21 to reflect on various issues. Leading them were the General Councilor for Social Communication, Fr. Gildasio Mendes, and Fr. Jose Kuttianimattathil of the Sector for Formation.
08. Zagreb, Croatia - October 2022 - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, from October 15-16 attended the celebrations for 100 years of Salesian presence in Zagreb and the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the "St. John Bosco" Province of Croatia (CRO).
