Santiago, Chile - March 2022 - The educational pastoral community of the "Liceo Manuel Arriarán Barros" of La Cisterna gathered on March 21 to celebrate the inauguration and blessing of the new multifunctional sports complex, a fundamental work for the integral development of the students. The Rector of the institute, Marcela Yánez, reminded the participants of the value that courtyards and playgrounds have in all Salesian houses. "In this place, we have a genuinely Salesian space: meetings, sports, joy. There are so many manifestations proper to youth and that is why when we start improvements we set the courtyard among our priorities." The Rector of the work, Fr Pedro Carrera, said that the new facilities should animate life and faith and be an opportunity to express gratitude to God. The Rector of the school and the Director, along with two representatives of the high school, have, finally, cut the ribbon and inaugurated the complex that has two courts usable for volleyball or tennis, two basketball courts, one for handball, and a multi-court enabled for other sports, all equipped with lighting.
