Les Ponts-de-Cé, France - April 2022 - From April 25 to 29, forty Salesians representing about twenty communities of the Province of St. Francis de Sales (France, South Belgium, Morocco, Switzerland), gathered at the campus of Pouillé, a Salesian house located near Angers, to celebrate the Provincial Chapter. The assembly was presided over by the FRB Provincial, Fr Daniel Federspiel, and the regulator was Fr Emmanuel Besnard, director of Valdocco Formations. The main orientations concerned the quality of community life and the dynamism of missionary life with and among young people. The Provincial Chapter insisted on the richness of intergenerationality and interculturality within the community and on the need to better train community leaders in the accompaniment of the Salesians, in particular, the senior Brothers and the young people in initial formation, in spiritual animation, and in economic management. With the impetus of the younger chapter members, emphasis was also placed on a greater consideration of integral ecology in the daily life of Salesian communities. The Capitulars also worked on the conclusions of the report of the Independent Commission on Sexual Abuse in the Church (CIASE, in French), published a few months ago.
