Italy – A thousand young people attend the Triveneto SYM Meeting
(ANS – Mogliano Veneto) – Over the weekend of Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026, the Astori Salesian College hosted the SYM Youth Meeting, one of the most eagerly awaited events in the calendar of the Triveneto Salesian Youth Movement. The event brought together around a thousand secondary school pupils, accompanied by their leaders, for an intense experience that combined formation, play and prayer, in keeping with Don Bosco’s educational style. The Meeting began on Saturday, when over 250 Year 8 pupils gathered to prepare for the following day. Sunday saw the arrival of groups from across the Triveneto region: from the works of the Salesians of Don Bosco, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and also from some parishes that share the Salesian charism. The highlight of the morning was the performance by the SYM Play group and the Eucharist, presided over by Fr Luca Bernardello, vocational animator of the St Mark Province of North-East Italy (INE), who reminded the young people that an encounter with Christ is not just any experience, but a unique one, capable of generating true and new life in each person. In the afternoon, the festivities continued with games at various stalls, prepared and run by the young people, and concluded with the final part of the show.
