(ANS – Villamuriel de Cerrato) – As part of the fourth Pastoral Unity Week in Villamuriel de Cerrato, the local Don Bosco Centre organised a gathering for world peace on 20 March 2026. Santi Domínguez, Rector of the Salesian house, explained: “One of the initiatives, as part of this week’s activities, is a space for prayer and interfaith dialogue for world peace. A space for people of different faiths in Villamuriel to come together. The Orthodox community, the Muslim community, the Evangelical community, the Catholic community and all neighbours of good will took part. We gathered to pray for peace. United by the desire for peace, we shared a simple gesture that reminds us that we are all peacemakers in our world”. Among the gestures performed during this moment of prayer was the lighting of the “Flame of Peace”. The prayer for peace forms part of the Week of Pastoral Unity in Villamuriel de Cerrato, which the local Salesians are currently celebrating together with the parishes of Villamuriel, Olmillos and Calabazanos. Under the motto “Caring for one another, building bridges that embrace”, various joint initiatives such as this interfaith gathering have been organised.
