Brazil – Provincial Meeting of the Salesian Family Council
(ANS – Jaboatão dos Guararapes) – On 21 and 22 March 2026, the Salesian Family Meeting and Council of Recife Brazil (BRE) took place at the Salesian Colony in Jaboatão dos Guararapes (PE). The meeting, organised by the Provincial Delegate Fr Cleyton Coutinho, brought together representatives of the various groups that make up the Salesian Family in the region. The event was a key moment for the formation and unity of the Salesian Family in the Nordeste. Present were Fr Joao Carlos Ribeiro and Prof. Dr Anderson Alencar, who highlighted the profound themes of the Salesian Family. Fr Ribeiro focused on Chapters IV and V of the Charter of Charismatic Identity, concentrating on “Formation and Solidarity” and “Communion and Collaboration”. It was an opportunity to understand how each group maintains its autonomy whilst walking under the same charism of Don Bosco. Drawing on his academic expertise, Prof. Alencar explored the theme of the Preventive System, reinforcing the experience of Salesian pedagogy in the current educational and social challenges of the “Nordeste”.
