D.R. Congo - 69 young people towards a better future
Bukavu, D.R. Congo - December 2019 – Over the course of 14 months (2 months of literacy or school recovery, 9 months of Vocational Training and 3 months of internship) 69 apprentices of the Salesian center "Don Bosco Bukavu" received their respective school certificates on 14 December and a tool kit for their introduction into the world of work. The director of the Salesian center, Fr Piero Gavioli, SDB, said "It is the culmination of a long road: 14 months ago, these boys and girls were 'in the streets', on the margins of social life. Don Bosco welcomed them, gave them a trade and opened them a future (...). The employment office of our school will help them in the search for a stable job for at least another year."
