04 May 2021

Bangalore, India - May 2021 - Fr Anil D'sa, SDB, Salesian from Bangalore and director of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement, in collaboration with the "Sneha Charitable Trust" (Camillians), motivated a group of 50 young volunteers to bring their help to the city's hospitals. The group has been called "Covid Warriors", and is made up of young people, including nuns and religious, trained by experienced doctors to assist in various sectors of the hospitals: they serve food and medicine to Covid-19 patients, in general wards and also in intensive care, and they assist the work of already overburdened nurses; they bring joy and consolation not only to patients, but also to frontline workers who are committed, day after day, to the well-being of patients. Indeed, they themselves have become frontline workers.
