RMG - A new video of "Cari Confratelli" column - General Chapter 28

30 July 2018

(ANS - Rome) - The term "Salesians" must be and become more and more synonymous with "those who have made a priority choice for children and young people, especially those most in need." This is what Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, says in the video-message of the "Cari Confratelli", or Dear Confreres, column released today, 30 July, and entirely dedicated to presenting the theme for the General Chapter 28 (GC28) of the Congregation.

In his message, as always addressed primarily to his confreres, but also indicative for the whole Salesian Family and the lay collaborators in the mission, the Rector Major starts from the guiding question of the GC28: "What kind of Salesians for today's young people?"

This is why Fr Á.F. Artime underscores that wherever and in whatever situation, "the Salesian bring young people in their hearts: be they sick, in the courtyard, in the school, or in the university ...".

In this journey of preparation for the GC28, the Rector Major then gives the Salesian communities two challenges. The first, to ask the young directly: "what do you think of us, what kind of Salesian do you need?"; and then, never to forget "to be children of a great dreamer" and therefore, "never stop dreaming!"

The video "Dear Confreres" is available on ANSChannel already in six languages, and is currently being translated into other languages.
